Audio Performance

I have a concert in a few days. It's with The Philadelphia Mallet Quartet. That's me, Behn Gillece, Oliver Mayman and Morgan Walbridge. We are each going to play a solo tune in the middle of the concert. That's a little nerv racking! 

When I do something like this I first work on the tune, then start recording it. I walk in my studio turn on Logic. I HAVE TO play the first version complete. Imagining I'm at the concert and walking on stage. I have to try and play with some nervs, if you know what I mean. 

Found this so I thought I'd post it! Sounds like Michael Brecker on sax! 

Just found this. Check it out. It has to be AI Generated right? It's almost pretty good, but tune forms and the progressions are weird.

So what do you all think of vibes in the context of traditional Irish music?  Definitely NOT traditional.  :)

Ok, I'm working on Pannonica. I hope some of you guys are working on it also. I posted an etude.

When I study these tunes I think of 2 parts. 

• The first part is can I make lessons around the tune. Do I know the tune well enough.
• Next, can I make a decent audio recording. 
• Next, can I make a decent video recording
• Finally can I play it on a gig, solo or with the band. 

Hey guys, here's a session I did with Elijah cole

This is guitar and vibes. It's cool because with no bass or drums, we have to do more and be more creative with our accompaniment!

There's an incredible guitarist in Philly. His name is Elijah Cole. He's a monster. 

We did a duo session. And I'm about to put it up on band camp, but I thought I'd post a track here for Subscribers. I'm such a nice guy huh? 

I talked in another post about the release of Sunset Glow featuring myself and David Friedman.

I mentioned I would post my version of the tune. I work hard on playing tunes solo. As many of you know, I think great players and play by themselves. They can play solo. 

How do you work on this? Record ourself playing melodies for starters, then tap along with them and check the time.
