Version 1 of Pannonica

Ok, I'm working on Pannonica. I hope some of you guys are working on it also. I posted an etude.

It's here.

When I study these tunes I think of 2 parts.

  • The first part is can I make lessons around the tune. Do I know the tune well enough.
  • Next, can I make a decent audio recording.
  • Next, can I make a decent video recording
  • Finally can I play it on a gig, solo or with the band.

Sunset Glow

I talked in another post about the release of Sunset Glow featuring myself and David Friedman.

I thought I would embed the CD here for anyone who wants to check it out.

TOTM - I Could Write A Book - Rehearsal mp3s

This goes along with this etude I posted:

https://www.vibesworkshop.com/audio-player/i-could-write-book/tonymicel…

I mentioned I would post my version of the tune. I work hard on playing tunes solo. As many of you know, I think great players and play by themselves. They can play solo.

How do you work on this? Record ourself playing melodies for starters, then tap along with them and check the time.

J. S. Bach, Sonata in E Major, vibes & piano

I. Adagio

II. Allegro

III. Adagio ma non tanto

IV. Allegro This recording is uploaded in honor of the brilliant hearing of Bob McCormick, Tampa, FLA.

The sonata, originally for violin and clavier, offers so many possibilities for expressive rubato it's a cornucopia of interpretive riches.

Mutsumi Moteki, piano

Recorded at the University of Colorado Boulder
