Here is my second one! 

Wiat for it! 

Oliver is quickly becoming one of the cats. 

So if all goes as planned we're doing a CD of solo vibes with Team Omega. That's Me, Warren Wolf, David Friedman, Joe Locke and Stefon Harris. We are recording in August. I say if all goes as planned because with those cats, everything can change. They are busy people. But it's looking good. 

I picked two tunes, The Song Is You and Stairway To The Stars.

I am amazed by Balifon players. I'm amazed how people play solo on different instruments. Here's a guy playing 2 mallets and singing and play melody and harmony. 

I think in many ways simplicity is the way to achieve this. Also remembering that each not helps provide time and the groove.

This is a video of the Charlie Kunz band featuring Teddy Brown. It's cool to watch just to see teddy. 

But go to 10:22 and watch the vibe player. He dampens with his finger. Why? I think because there was not pedal on the vibraphone. 

That blew me away. Am I right? 

This was great and fun. I played Terry's big band charts with his LA Dream Band. What incredible musicians! 

I did practice playing these tunes every day for a month. LA cats are great readers and great players, so I had to really practice! 

This was a great gig. On this video I am playing his tunes with his son on drums. Tom Rainer on Clarinet and Bill Cullen on piano.
