What a great month of September we had: presenting the new Malletech vibes ‘Omega’ (if you missed the online presentation hang, check out the vids below). While Tony once more spread the good vibes in Ireland with John Daly and Larry McKenna, our faculty members kept on posting the usual lessons on both Tunes Of The Month (Summertime and Wave for now). And when some of us were reading and finishing Gary’s biography, discussions kept on coming, with comments from the maestro himself. Now don’t miss our next “Special Duke vibe hang” this Sunday www.vibesworkshop.com/node/9502/
Just got an email from Gary Burton, said 'You got to post this!'. So i watched it and he's right. A great Teddy Charles vid!
So what happened to him, when the xylo fell from the top? Anybody know? I should read up on him.
And what a big guy, huh? You would think he wouldn't be that agile!
This Sunday October 6th 2013 at 12 noon East Coast Philadelphia Time, UTC/GMT -4 hours, EDT:
We'll have a University of the Arts Vibe Hang Featuring the music of Duke Ellington and Billy Strayhorn.
Performing will be:
Dimitri Angelakis
Drew Johnson
Tony Miceli
Andrew Nitoli
Kristina O'dea
Tune in and check out some great vibe player and support the hard work of the students.
I hung out with the guitar great Louie Stewart and Philly's own Larry Mckenna while in Ireland.
They both told me about Tubby Hayes. I didn't know that he played vibes. I'm listening to him right now and he sounds great and swinging!
Any else know about him?

The dampening system on the Omega vibraphone is unique and really great. Check it out!
