You and the Night and the Music by Rusty Burge
A couple incorrect passing melody notes in my right hand. I told my right hand which note to hit, but for some reason it chose not to listen:)

Hi
This is a tune I am working for the vibe hang. This is my etude....
Bye!
Hi Everyone,
I went to hear Tony with Kevin and Paul last night, with a "new" (to me) drummer Anwar Marshall.
So fantastic, every song, every word! What a great combination of talent.
You have got to hear them in person if at all possible.
I'll be writing a piece on this gig for Jersey Jazz. It will appear in the December issue.
Kudos to Tony and the guys.

Check out Gary being interview on "On Point" -- http://onpoint.wbur.org/2013/09/18/gary-burton-memoir. Nothing earth shattering if you've read his book and heard him speak before, but worthwhile.

This video is one year old and I had missed it! FYI, Harry today is 85! Vibes keep you young! Enjoy! :o)
I've uploaded the Livestream video from my gig last Friday to YouTube -- Enjoy!

Hi!
As you some of you already know I moved in to Philadelphia to do my Master's degree with Tony at University of The Arts. I wanted to say to all of you that Tony is a monster both playing and teaching and already learned a tons from him. That is the reason I am not so active to the site but I make sure that me and Tony work hard and all the vibe hangs will be great!
Tony you are the man....thanks a lot for everything!!!!!!

Hello
Since we are practising Duke Ellington's tune I am going to play try to play the tune called melancholia which is a greek word and it means I am very sad (it's actual a medical term).
I could play it with a bass player or by myself....
See you all soon!
I'll be Livestreaming my gig with the Trude Witham Group on this Friday, 13-Sep-2013, from 8:00-10:30EDT. You can join us at http://new.livestream.com/accounts/1758489/events/2395741.
It keeps popping up. Either the student doesn't know the melody or sort of knows it. Or, he can only play the melody with his 4 mallet arrangement.
I think you guys should make yourselves a promise. When you learn a new tune, you will learn the MELODY first and play it and work on it, unaccompanied. No chords. Use your inner to hear the chords while you play the melody.
Next learn the chords.
Then you can put them together, but NEVER forget the melody or lose the ability to play it unaccompanied.
Deal?????? This will go a long way!
