Hey everyone,
Here's some info on the December Good Vibes radio program, the first and only broadcast program totally dedicated to the vibraphone (marimba and xylophone included). I've got a minor holiday thing going on for December with Stefon Harris, Christos Rafalides, Randy Sutin, Johnny Lytle, Arturo Serra ("Peace" by Horace Silver and Chick Corea's "Children's Song #9) and two Romanian carols by Alexandru Anastasiu.

Yardbird suite - practicing up tempo - by Patrice Guillon

Trying to follow the advices that Dave,Tony, Behn and Rusty gave me in my previous post . Do you know another place where you can be coached by masters like these cats ?!
I'don't. Probably cause there isn't. Lucky guys we are !
Soooo .... up tempo practicing: leave space, play mostly quarter notes, accentuation, "straighten" the eight notes, play a little bit more "laid back".
I feel more confortable after few hours practicing all that bunch ....
Here is a glimpse ....

Whats is your approach to using play a long recordings as an aide?

For years ive been using jamey abersold's play records as an aide. His catalog of recordings hit on every aspect of improvising from basic scales to complex harmony. These have been a staple of my dialy routine since i started this journey and continue everyday.

I thought i would share one approach i have taken in recent years that has helped my ability to play in any situation.
