This morning French vibist Benoit Moerlen made me discover this jazz album that Serge Gainsbourg composed in 1958. And oh surprise, there is vibes on a few tracks!! That one is my favorite: "Jazz In the Ravine". On vibes, one of are veterans Michel Hausser! :o)
Enjoy!

ps: trivia question: beside the excellent quality of this piece, I noticed a little surprising detail... maybe it's me. Maybe you will have the same feeling... Anything you'd have to say?
Hello guys,
I have some gigs somewhere in November or in December and I need a set of vibes in Maastricht, The Netherlands. Anyone that I can borrow his/her vibes?
You can contact me through the vibesworkshop or in aggelli16@hotmail.com or on Facebook (dimitris angelakis).
Thank you guys
Hey everyone,
A friend of mine is having trouble with an assignment she got in grad school, and I think some of you can help. She has to survey public school music teachers (K-12, not collegiate) from outside the US, but the trouble is she only has two international connections, so she asked me to help.
So...if you or someone you know teaches music in a public school in any country other than the US (including Canada!) and are willing to help, email me at c.stallard22@gmail.com. It's a short survey, I promise! Thanks :)
got the new axe home. still gettin use to the switch over from 4 months playing the one nighter vibes .. lol that ya can see in the back. this yamaha dampens soo much better and evenly then the one nighter and the sustain is just wonderful. just a quick improv on angel eyes..
I have a malletkat but I'm not sure what the best software is to use it with. I remember seeing demos with Mainstage, and that seems cool, but I have a pc. Any suggestions?
Question:
I'm a beginner vibes player, and am fortunate to play in a band that has a very wide variety of tunes in the repertoire. Don't ask me why... it just kind of worked out that way, and we're all amateurs in it for fun and doing mostly free charity stuff, so why not mix it up?!?
I played a great and fun gig in South Korea at the Daegu Jazz Festival. I made some great friends over there, so are on Vibesworkshop! Jinwoo and Sang Won. Great guys and great players! Sang Won studies with me at University of the Arts.
I'd like to share with you one of the song of the new album of Franck Tortiller orchestra. One of the best french vibist and composer.
Great song. Great vibist.
Greetings everyone. As some of you might know, I'm an adult student getting back to mallet playing after being away for many, many years. Used to have a marimba. Played lots of classical music. Now the proud owner of my first vibraphone. I'm having an absolute blast! Definitely trying to aim at jazz soloing, comping, ect on the vibes.
