Greetings everyone. As some of you might know, I'm an adult student getting back to mallet playing after being away for many, many years. Used to have a marimba. Played lots of classical music. Now the proud owner of my first vibraphone. I'm having an absolute blast! Definitely trying to aim at jazz soloing, comping, ect on the vibes.
Greetings everyone,
My Musser M55 can be adjusted for height. Are there guidelines/suggestions on choosing an optimal height?
Thanks!

Question for all you Mallet Kat players out there:
Has anyone found a lightweight soft case for the KAT?
I got the soft wheeled case about 2 months ago. It's great, well made, good design, but the thing by itself weighs close to 20lbs!
very excited to say i have found a vibraphone that will be at my home soon. found a yamaha yv 2600 mint condition for the right price and was able to grab it up .. such a blessing.
Sorry for getting on a soap box here. but....

Look what happens when we all come together. The world is a better place in a small way. And that counts a lot. I always thought if I was nice to a stranger that I started a chain reaction of nice and if I was mean to a stranger I started a chain reacting of mean. 692 reads, I think we did some nice.
Hi all,
I'm sitting here on Monday afternoon, completely shattered from a weekend of rehearsals, paired with doubles on gigs. Needless to say, I don't feel like doing much, but I had some thoughts and observations lately that I wanted to share.
First of all, I would like to make more of a habit of sharing some experiences that may be interesting to people. I feel like I'm posting lessons, and not creating room for discussion enough; I promise I'll do a better job at that, haha!
This is a beginners course on playing the vibes. How to stand behind the instrument, how to hold the mallets. etc.
*note to professors. This is designed to be an online course. If your department's students are all subscribers of the site, you may be entitled to online workshops or even in person workshops depending on the number of students registered.
Here are the courses for our General Intermediate Vibes Course.
It's assumed that students have experience on the vibraphone, can play scales, know chords and are not beginners with harmony and technique.
