Just want to mention again without making a big to do about it. Sculptors have to make sculpture. Painters make paintings.
We make music. So the question is are you making music?
Imagine knowing a sculptor who says they are a sculptor and have been doing it for 10 years and you ask to see something and they say they haven’t made anything but they’re working on it.
Practicing is preparing to make music. Recording yourself or playing a concert I think is making music.
Malletech LN2R Mallet review - you should get some!
Since my wife and I first moved into the same Brooklyn loft apartment in 1993 I have either been blissfully ignorant or hyper-aware of the sound of my vibraphone practicing and how it affects the people around me. Luckily, for my wife and eldest son, I didn't play much music for about 8 years and consequently they didn't have to listen to it while they were trying to get their well deserved sleep at the end of the day.
No one to talk with ....all by myself...
No one to walk with...not riskin nobody's health
Corona Virus...keepin away from you
I don't stay out late...where could I go
Not such a hot date... just beer and a TV show
Corona Virus....keepin away from you....
I'm a hermit ...with no permit....
To leave my cave ... freedom I crave
But your health ... keeps me stayin away .. to..day
So next weekend how about...
Let's do mini concert on vibesworkshop.
April 11th. 2 or 3 tunes on video or audio, you just can't stop in between. Meaning the video or audio is not cut up. Makes us work hard on playing two or three tunes without stopping.
Who's in? Put your name in the comment section.
BTW - We are doing cool stuff on our Facebook VW page.
Every Saturday (Probably for a while), we're have online concerts.
Every Sunday (Probably for a while), we're having and online coffee house meeting with vibe players only!
Hey guys,
Here's the information for the online workshop.
We're doing it on a program called Zoom. Zoom is a very easy program to use. Just click the link and download the app and you should be able to figure it out.
We'll start at 12:00 EST 16:00 UTC
Here's the information:
Tony Miceli is inviting you to a scheduled Zoom meeting.
Topic: Vibesworkshop Presents David Friedman
Time: Mar 22, 2020 12:00pm Eastern Time (US and Canada) 16:00 UTC
Let's play and post on here. Do mini concerts, do whatever. Let's be active and work on stuff and post our growth here! Make videos and post them.
I'm also thinking about doing some group Skype or Zoom calls. Anyone interested in hanging and talking about vibes? Asking questions, playing, whatever.
How are you guys getting through all this?
I hope you got some money for food and living. The idea of fellow vibe players struggling for simple things kills me.
I am definitely going nuts. Fear, unknown, WTF! All that.
I do know this, we need to be active and have goals. That's how I'm handling it. I'm playing and recording myself constantly. I think I'll try and put up a tune a day. I did two today, one had a little glitch in it. Not sure how big of a deal it is.
I'll post the other one.
