What's Coming Up?

Trying to sort some stuff out, but I have some things in mind over the xmas break. I'm finished teaching at school (Univ of the Arts) and have a month off.

I'd like to get on line a lot over the month and hang out with subscribers. Maybe Piper and Saindon and Joe will join me for some? That's in the works. Just have to get my schedule together.

I've asked Patty Franceschy to do some lessons during these meet ups with the stevens grip.
I even asked Harvey Price who just wrote a book of Milt transcriptions to do some mini Milt lessons!

sunday gig

yo, i have a 4 oclock sunday gig. it pays great!! so that's cool. let me find out what time it's over and get back to you.

i'm hoping i can get home early. i work i think 7 nights next week, which is good. but after that it's slow, and i'll have time.

first things first let's see when this gig is over.

i'll get back to you.

Really Really Exciting News

We're all excited here at vibesworkshop.com because Ed Saindon has agreed to become part of our faculty. Ed will be posting lessons and more, hanging out with us at the vibe hangs! Helping all of us to get better on the instrument. Ed has been playing and teaching on this instrument for YEARS now. So he has a ton to offer!

I just thought I'd announce that. I'm going to put up his section of the site hopefully today and then he'll start sending lessons down!

What's your biggest challenge playing the vibe?

I'm curious to know what your most challenging aspect of playing the vibes is or has been. I'd like to know from both the "pros" and the "up and coming Pros". This should be very unique to each individual. We all have different views on how we want to sound (that's one unique view) and we are all gifted with unique talents and... well... deficiencies.

A Bail Out Plan for Jazz Musicians

I posted this over at www.larrysimprovpage.com and thought that maybe it would be of interest to some of you here, especially the pros.

Everybody is going for a bail out plan, well jazz musicians should also. After all, look at all the gigs we're losing because of those greedy f*(kin b**t(*(s who chiseled away everything they could until there was nothing left. They didn't care about anybody including our jazz gigs!

So I propose only 1 billion to be set aside to compensate us for the following (that's much less then anyone else is asking for):
