malletKat Pro - alternatives to Yamaha Motif XS?

Ok so I'm considering the MalletKat Pro.

So the MalletKat company (AlternateMode) has units such as the Yamaha Motif XS as the sound module.

My question is there any other option not sold or mentioned by AlternateMode, that malletheads are using besides the Motif? Sorry I would be a rookie to the malletkat. I would ask a question on the alternatemode forums but they seem old and full of spam.

I don't have access to a sales floor full of malletkat instruments, so I am asking the community. Mr. Harry Sheppard is in town and he uses a Roland set up. But I guess what I am asking, what kind of other options besides the Yamaha Motif are there? Thanks for your patience I am a malletkat rookie.

The KS model Kerzweil sounds or use is as a controller with a computer?

Cheers everyone,

I have been looking for a MIDI hardware module, for my MalletKAT, and i have been relunctant in getting AlternateMode's (Kurzweil SOUNDS) _ GigKAT.
It's not expandable, nor it has any USB connection.

Would the Yamaha Motif XS be a good alternative ??
(I've found a 2nd hand one, cheaper than a new GigKAT .)

Any other sub $1k modules with good sounds?

mario owns the company and stephen knows as much about the instrument as mario and they both do the radio city music hall christmas gig on malletekat. stephen is a wiz on the malletkat.
