Teaching with FaceTime. I gave a lesson yesterday to a vibe student in Guangzhou, China. Technology has certainly increased the possibilities in music education. We covered a lot of ground in the hour including the fulcrum grip, dampening, theory, comping and improv.
My student Dan asked me for a chord etude on this tune. So here it is with the rhythms.
The tune: If I Should Lose You
Assignment: right in the chord symbols and analyze what I'm doing.
@Dan, why don't you write up something about this? And why don't you play it and record it and post your version. My chords then your chords.
@Everyone else: Why don't you check this out and think of some questions. I'm asking if you have questions. I'm asking you to think of questions. Create some dialogue.

If you're more advanced try and figure ways to solo on this as well.
Hello all – I am working on a set of pieces and the first movement is a solo vibraphone piece titled "Meditation" the piece itself will be called "Thoughts" here is a rough sketch of the first movement. I know for the "acoustic traditionalist/purist" might not like my sound as I'm trying some reverb with pickups and other little gadgets. About two years ago I started teaching an audio class; which has got me interested in everything sound!Take care and I hope all of your doing well. Jim PS I would appreciate any feedback – I'm not the super Pro, but love playing vibraphone :-)
