Jamey Aebersold - something to think about during COVID-19 times

Jamey is one of the greatest innovators in jazz education. Back in the 1970's he started producing high quality playalong albums of jazz classics as practice aids for emerging young players. At the time, very few colleges had formal jazz programs, so many young players like myself, had only limited opportunities to actually play. These recordings were treasured and provided a great service to us.

Kinda Boring Malletkat Composing Video

Welp-- tried a few takes of piano on the Malletkat and then threw on some bass and vibes.
Not happy with it-- but got to test out a two cam workflow. Resolve is pretty slow on my computer..
Might switch to something less frustrating.

Didn't mix or anything-- just played and called it good. The Play patches sound good!! Software control is good with the Malletkat-- less success on a Roland Integra..

kk that's all!

To The Tune of Ain't Misbehavin

No one to talk with ....all by myself...
No one to walk with...not riskin nobody's health
Corona Virus...keepin away from you

I don't stay out late...where could I go
Not such a hot date... just beer and a TV show
Corona Virus....keepin away from you....

I'm a hermit ...with no permit....
To leave my cave ... freedom I crave
But your health ... keeps me stayin away .. to..day

DIY Soundproofing?

Being home 24/7, I'm thinking about additional ways to keep from driving my neighbors and roommate nuts with all my noise (not just vibes..I also loudly practice singing kid songs for one of my jobs). Anyone have any DIY soundproofing ideas without spending a lot of money? Here's what I have so far:

-Malletech Late Nite vibe mallets (these have been soooo clutch!)
-A rug under my vibes
-Curtains, sheets, and tapestries on the walls (including a blackout curtain)

What do you do to soundproof your space?
