Hello everybody,
here is a youtube video of my new composition for vibraphone, piano, 5-string bass and drums. If anyone interested in playing it, I can send score and parts. My contact address is bitmaptrio@seznam.cz

Concerto for Violin and Orchestra was written in 1987, marking Philip Glass's first work for orchestra. With the exception of a concerto for two timpanists, Glass has not written for solo percussion. Glass, being one of my favourite composers, I have selected this concerto to adapt for marimba and vibraphone.

Here is a video from my MMus Recital,
Enjoy :)
Hi all,
I have been working on a 4 mallet marimba solo called Mbira song. I have been enjoying learning this wonderful piece. However, i was wondering if anyone here has either played the piece or has any tips on it. Its a great marimba solo and i reccomend it to anyone looking for a nice marimba solo.
Thanks,
Drslg

This is a trio of mine, recorded on my senior recital this april. We're playing my trio arrangement of a really hip John Hollenbeck tune called "After a dance or two we sit down for a pint with Gil and Tim".
Enjoy,
Paxton
Not sure if this is the right place to post this question, but...
On the Milt Jackson CD titled "Sa Va Bella" there is a great tune called "Blues For Queen D" that I'm learning.
Does anyone know of a play-along track for that song anywhere? Also can this be a Tune of the Month?
Thanks, Karl
Inspired by the last piece, I got this vision of an epic chase so I tried to write out a "story"
hope you like it,
Joe
This is my arrangement of The Hours by Philip Glass for 2 marimbas.
This is a live recording from my friends Scott's Graduation Recital at the University of Lethbridge. I'm the guy in the black.

Hope you like, this piece is really great. The challenge was trying to sound like one person blending and lining up all the polyrhythms.

update.
added video it starts 40seconds in ish tho.
I have a duet. Vibraphone / hand drums(zarb, tabla, riq, pandeiro, kanjira, frame drums etc.) and guitar (classical, oud and a few other guitars)
We are starting to build up a repetoire.
We play some flamenco, some tangos, some jazz lot's of different stuff.
I love Cuban piano so much, but I love the vibraphone. So this song is my influence of cuban music specially cuban piano.
Hope you enjoy.
There is spost to be lots of percussive guitar stuff added and several fills, but I didn't notate them.
