Chord Study on Giant Steps by Tony Miceli
I've given voicings for Giant Steps. Your just is to study the harmony, write in the chords with their upper partials and then memorize the voicings. Then add rhythm and comp with a play along track to get the voicings inside of you.

8MAD - Voice Leading - Day 5
Day 5: We've combined the top note passing tones with the inner voice passing tones. It's a little tricky to complete all this dampening in tempo, so be sure to pick a nice, relaxed pace to work at!

Simple but Important 251 exercise.
Play this down in whole steps. It should make sense, what to do.
Then try and vary it a bit, change the rhythms, add a note. Try to build on this.
This is essential to play standards and more complex original tunes.
This needs to be second nature!
The first dominant chord, in this example G13b9 uses the dominant diminished scale. The second chord in this example the A7b13b9 uses the Altered scale.
Dom Dim - G Ab Bb B Db D E F G
A Altered is - A Bb C Db Eb F G
Put this through all the keys.
Is this helpful???
