Music publishing

Does anyone have any advice for publishing your original music? I've been doing a fair amount of composing lately for a CD project I'm working on, and I was wondering how the process works, is it worth doing, etc.

A little while ago Mike Pinto mentioned the benefits of publishing your tunes and I looked into the company he's with, but they seem to require more stature in the industry than I have. Does anyone have suggestions that will work for people with day jobs?

Any advice appreciated :-). Thanks in advance.

Inventing your own exercises

The last mini-lesson I posted on VW seemed to raise more questions than it solved... Ok that is cool, the idea is to explore many things and try to get better. We all need to do this, and it never stops as a player. It's a constant journey.

In the Coltrane lick I had been working on, I suggested a double sticking that some of you pointed out was actually a triple sticking. So I had to look into that, cause I wasn't even slowing it down enough to realize I was doing that, and upon further review, it is not something I would actually recommend doing.

Weaving Melodies With Upper Structures

If you are busting ass on rhythm changes but need a little break, here is something to clear the head with. This, however, can be applied to rhythm changes.
