Interesting sounds and nice playing ! Enjoy !
The video quality is weird but the music is very nice (IMHO) !
I just discovered this great vibraphone player. Very serious guy ! And great band too.
Enjoy
Here's an interesting interview of Ruth Underwood, the early Zappa mallet player (with Zappa's son too). I love the passionate way she speaks of the music, the composer and the development of the instrument to large bands and "loud modern" music. Btw, I didn't know Zappa was originally a percusionnist! And not more that Chester Thompson had worked with him!
Enjoy!

Wouldn't it be cool to get back to our old tradition: the "Who is" posts?
If you want to know what a "Who is" is and read some of them, they are all here:

So my question today is... but for God's sake who is Babu? Huh? :o)
Here a perfect (as usual) vibe solo of Gary Burton, with a very good natural sound, showing what music can be out of stage performance !
It was recorded in Italy, in a percussion school. What I like, aside of music by itself, is that Gary plays as if he was in front of a 10,000 people audience. That shows us the way !
Hearing a post of Tony with the young guitarist Andreas Vorady made me remember this video of young (13 years old at that time) pianist Gady Lehavi playing Autumn Leaves with Dave Liebman. What's incredible is his maturity in harmony. Enjoy !
This is not a vibes thing but I ran into this looking for Anthony Jackson bass stuff.
But what it is, is a smok'n groove and hot players.
Love this feel :)
Love the bass lines.
Love the players.
Makes my day !
I had to share it.
Unfortunately its cut short.

Here is traditional tango very weel played by an authentic argentin player. He is 34 years old, and he plays with a lot of bands in Buenos Aires, some of them new tango (Piazzolla and his musical's sons). Perfect tecnician, and for me the real tango feel (length of the notes, accentuation, lyricism, etc...). He has many albums, and many Youtube videos with this duo.
Hope you enjoy !
