Bill Evans!

soooo, tony and bill eavans are kind of similar in a way..
i watched just a video from tony talking about putting yourself in a box, and this interview of bill evans goes along with that idea. there's just so much to say about it, hopefully some people will have their own ideas on it.I think bill evans is one of the most interesting people to hear speak. it's pretty simple ideas, but said very well and clearly.

Healing Good Vibes for Joe Locke

.
Dear all,

Here are some news from Joe Locke: about to play a gig in Winnipeg, he had to undergo an emergency appendectomy.

Luckily, all went fine. He'll have to stay in the hospital for 3 days and then on his way home for recovery.

His manager Tom Marcello nicely kept us informed and just gave us those latest good news...

Let's all wish Joe a prompt recovery, good times back and to see him back on board... and on stage!!

Alice Coltrane - The vibist - Could Terry Gibbs help us?

We just heard Alice Mc Leod-Coltrane on some of Terry Gibbs special tracks here. I was just wondering... We've heard that she, among piano, harp, organ, also played the vibes... But there are nearly no information on that part of her career. Who said she was great at this instrument too? Bruce was that you?

So I was just wonder, Mr Gibbs, I'm sure you could help us and make her memory live again here... Would you like to share your souvenirs of Alice with us? That would be so great!!

Norbert Lucarain & Michael Jackson - Prime time vibes to the King of Pop!

It was Saturday evening, my mobile phone rang with a SMS from my guitarist friend Bernard: "Turn on to France 2!" (French TV channel) So did I...

It was the French music awards evening "Les Victoires de la Musique", the overture tune. They had chosen to make a little medley in tribute to Michael Jackson, with a bunch of French musicians of the moment.

Tim Garland's Storms Nocturnes Project featuring Joe Locke & Geoffrey Keezer - Saturday Feb. 27th

I was lucky enough to get along to Ronnie Scott's on Saturday night, to see an absolutely fantastic gig. I rushed over to catch the late show, (all the early tickets were sold out, unsurprisingly) and a packed out club was treated to some amazing music.
