I downloaded this tune from Christos' lesson. I had never heard it before. I was sitting at the piano reading it down and was captivated by it. Such a beautiful song. I'm playing it here just trying to be true to the melody and adding some simple accompaniment/counterpoint. The tune plays itself. Thanks Christos! Ed

Bela Fleck traveled to Africa to make a film and perform with local musicians. This excerpt features a giant marimba. The resonating chamber is a hole dug in the ground. The enormous hand carved bars a placed over the hole. I've never seen anything like it!

Gary Burton's Jazz Improvisation Course
Over the past five weeks, I've been enrolled in Gary Burton's online jazz improvisation course at https://www.coursera.org/. Coursera is a website that offers free online courses in a variety of subjects. I really enjoyed the course and was able to relate a lot of the assignments to lessons here on VWS, so I asked Tony if I could put up a review. Enjoy!
