Hey everyone!
I've been working hard on this TOTM, and it'd be really cool now to work on it with a virtual group. Tony wants to put together a FREE Skype lesson on harmony, but we need another two or three of you to make it happen. Who wants to jam with me???
Play your vibes!
Carolyn
I'm happy to announce that 'Mostly Marimba' just published two of my pieces:
'Whisper Magic' for solo vibraphone and 'Hortensia', a duo for vibes and bass.
Whisper Magic can be found on my latest recording 'Blue November'.
Hortensia will be released this Spring.

Another great month went through: working hard and fun on our TOTM 'How Deep Is The Ocean', testing our first online lesson, setting the last details for our upcoming Winter European Working near Dusseldorf. Also read about our first Kickstarter project and be a part of it!
Some of us will join Tony and David for lots of fun at the Mallet Institute… only for the vibraphone near Dusseldorf. Be sure to be on the site between 21st -24th of February… and don’t miss the vibe hang on Sunday 24th!
Point 2 is a newly formed, innovative duo by vibraphonist Christos Rafalides and bassist Petros Klampanis.
This concert is a sneak peek of their upcoming album, scheduled to be released in spring of 2013.
Grotto is a great place located in Lower Side (NYC), that hosts excellent music and serves delicious food and wine.

Hey guys, Marie-Noelle had posted a link of me playing this tune with bassist Mark Carlsen. Here is another version with Mark, Charlie Jennison on sax, Les Harris Jr. on drums and me on vibes. This was a concert that took place at Phillips Exeter Academy in Exeter, NH in October, 2012. It was a tribute to local bassist Jim Howe who passed away. Jim and I used to play a lot together at the Press Room in Portsmouth, NH. This was one of Jim's favorite tunes. How Deep was also one of Herb Pomeroy's favorite tunes.
another version of this ballad. on this gig i tried to pick up the vibes with just a rode n1 from underneath. i liked the sound although on this video the vibes are a bit to low.

Vibist Dick Sisto is appearing tomorrow night, Feb. 1st, at The Jazz Kitchen in Indianapolis. Sets begin at 7:30 and 9:30. Steve Allee will be at the piano, Frank Smith on bass and Jason Tiemann on drums. I've seen these guys a couple times and done some study with Dick and I think you'll be very glad that you ventured out into the frozen tundra to witness this one.
