Very Interesting speech and very nice music (as usual with Gary !).
This free improve video is from a concert I did in October at UD with The Real Vocal String Quartet, a great group from the SF area. This was totally unrehearsed. I'll post some tunes I did with them later.
If you're driving to Holland for the workshop this February, put your vibes in the car and put them in your hotel room. Then you can practice at night for a bit. even if you have to play quietly.
I imagine February will be a slow time for the hotel, so maybe they can put us all together. Then practicing won't matter.
Just thinking ahead. If there were a few sets of vibes there then maybe they could be passed around a little bit from room to room. that is if we are close together.
We'll be wrapping up our 2011 Chord And Harmony Festival this week I think.
And of course with all the closings we need to sum what we've learned up in music. Here's my 'Final Project' for the festival. I'll also do a closing lesson to go along with this. I know it's out of order but who said it has to be in order! :-)
Hey everyone!
Been a while since I've been up on here unfortunately, but I have some exciting news!
I'll be back in New York for some gigs to release the album I recorded at Bennett Studios last December - BURBANK.
If anyone is in New York TONIGHT (November 25th) I'll be playing at Somethin' Jazz Club on west 52nd St 8.30pm -10.00 with some great cats!
Look forward to seeing anyone there!!

I'm going to meet Vince Montana in a couple weeks. Just curious if you guys know who he is and he did. He's a real pop vibraphonist. And he's a great player. This video is from 1978 and he's using tracks! He has made a ton of money in the music business and he's a great musician!!
Can you guys find any info on him and post links here. He's a very credible vibraphonist even if he went the pop route. He's a great pop writer and on and on! He's serious.
This is pretty interesting to me. Listen to Coltrane's solo.
Check out Vince Lardear. He came over tonight and did a whole video series on the bebop 7 scale. It was really great! I'll put it up soon!!!
I'll give a set of my mallets to the first person who transcribes the solo here and posts it! That is the first to post it *here* in the comments.
