Brazilian music.

With the chords festival, the topic of grooves arose and one of them is brazilian rhythm(s).
I personally lived (in the 80th) some years in Brazil as a professional musician and since then I lead a MPB (Musica Popular Brasileira) group and a Batucada (street percussion band), both playing samba, samba reggae, partido-alto, afoxé, maracatu, and bossa-nova , musica-cansão, baião, choro, in addition for the MPB group. I had the opportunity to play with numerous brazilian players and singers during my career and I keep doing so. That’s for my credentials…

Hello. This is a new lesson on the chords and harmony festival 2011. I am talking about how you can play a minor melodic chord or scale over a maj 7 chord. I hope you find this helpfull. If there are any questions, let me know.

Thank you

Dimitris

Here's a lesson on modal comping.

Why don't we all answer these. Here are my answers

Where's the dividing line between playing a melodically interesting accompaniment and overpowering the soloist?

I'm going to put the word out to Behn, Ted, Mike and all the other guys for comping lessons. I'll also do some as well.

Let's start off with questions? You have any questions about comping??

I always tell my students that everybody should always have questions about everything in music. Even the pros. That's the sign of interest, I think. If you're interested in something you think about it and have lots of questions.

So...... Have any questions??? :-)

Another xylo lesson that would definitely help beginning improv vibe players.
