Hei you all! My name is Lucas Dorado, I'm a new subscribing member of "VibesWorkshop" and I would like to share a composition of mine with you. I wrote it for Solo-Vibraphone. Since I'm here on a website with a lot of great Vibesplayers, every feedback is very welcome!

Some sad news. Bobby Hutcherson dies last night.

He will be missed terribly by the jazz world and especially us her at vibesworkshop.

So any Bobby stories out there?

Tears In Heaven by Eric Clapton - a beautiful and emotional song which is one of my favorite tracks from Eric's Unplugged recording. (a really great recording). It was a challenge but also fun working on this song with the mainly diatonic and triadic harmony. Any wrong note sticks out like a sore thumb.

His time is really good. I actually think he does a pretty good job!

He is 84 years old at the time this video was recorded.... !

I am learning a ton making lessons of these bebop tunes.

It's so great for me. I learn and my playing gets better.

I've been listening to the great pianist Art Tatum for the past few weeks while commuting to Boston to teach at Berklee. I hadn't listened to Tatum for quite awhile. I listened to all of the tracks from the Solo Masterpieces. Still unbelievable playing and fresh. The refined touch, sound, fluidity, harmonic richness, reharm, chromaticism within the harmony, the stride and 10ths in the left hand, ...there's so much in each track. Anyways, here's a little nod to Art Tatum with this rendition of Duke Ellington's great composition "In A Sentimental Mood".
