Mozart to Coltrane's Giant Steps Part 2

PART 2

Academic but still might be interesting to anyone studying Giant Steps.

Doc Chittum is a very loved faculty member at Uarts. He does a lecture each year where he ties Giant Steps all the way back to Mozart. The lecture is pretty amazing. This is a 4 part excerpt from the lecture. In the lecture he hands out music and shows this lineage that's really incredible!

Just Friends - Milt and Bobby

Milt and Bobby. They always pull down Milt stuff so watch it now before it's too late (dixit Tony Miceli)...
So believe him and watch! (MN)

Daily Motion Introduction:
Jazz vibes giant Milt Jackson (1923 - 1999) in one of his last performances. With him, Michael LeDonne on piano, Pierre Boussaguet on bass, and the legendary Mickey Roker on drums. At this point, Milt Jackson brings Bobby Hutcherson onstage for a duet on the venerable standard "Lady Be Good", a fitting finale for this great concert, and it's roger and out from Salzau, Germany, 1999.
