Musify online chord notation

Hello,

I've written a very simple and free function to enable those who need to write chord sequences, figured notation and simple macro-music analysis. On their webpages. It's not fool-proof, so it does need testing. Please take a look and let me know what you think!

I first saw Corey's new application over on the VibeNet. I went through some of it and discovered some things that he needed to tweek. I left Corey posts there and he responded. I am surprised as you that 82 persons saw this post and did not respond. Musify is not real easy to understand but maybe Corey should post some more information about his application in order to get some responses.

if i can't instantly make it happen and work, i move on. i hit that page and i wasn't sure what to do, and i left. i went back again a looked for a sec, but still it seemed i'd have to sift through a few things. no time. it's something that would be cool to use on this site, you know? whenever we posted changes!!

I'm ever so sorry... I would have responded if the replies had shown up when I visited the forum. Which I have done quite a bit over the last few days. I also had problems posting here... and you're using Drupal... perhaps it's the Drupal installation?

In any case, Marie sent me a link that now displays the replies so I will go back read and reply!

I do hope [Bruce, Tony] you go back and have another look. Try the on-line editor to see what you can do with it - you can refer to the crib sheet without losing your work.

I'm normally quite quick with solving any issues - after chatting with Bruce on thevibe.net I immediately made some changes to make it better and hopefully easier to use [Bruce - you will find the English pound sign (#) gives you a sharp, and a dollar gives you a flat.]. So please don't take the fact that I haven't responded on here as slackness - I literally haven't seen the replies until Marie sent me an e-mail this morning.

The idea at the moment is for a user to be able to make their own web-pages with proper chordal/harmonic notation, without having to remember lots of HTML entities like (& # 3839;), etc. or in fact any HTML at all. It's similar to typing **hello** in an e-mail or Facebook chat to get hello, but for music. Over here, it lines up simple time signatures pretty well, and I've recently [yesterday] added wide angled brackets so that ordered pitch class sequences can be notated.

Drupal module: yes, that would be good! But I think that hits my limits of knowledge. The project is currently on SourceForge and I have already posted an advert for someone to convert it to a WordPress plugin. The more it used and spread the more likely these things will come about!

As a quick fix: if you do want to show some changes here, you could use the on-line editor and copy and paste the preview. Although you will lose super-scripting, you get other symbols:

e.g. F∅ | B♭7(♭5, ♯13) | DΔ

I didn't realize we can get these symbols. Here's a quick fix to get these symbols in our posts.
When we create a post, there is a section in the editing page that describes formatting. Just add another line there so we can copy/paste symbols, e.g.,

* Web page addresses and e-mail addresses turn into links automatically.
* Allowed HTML tags: ...
* Lines and paragraphs break automatically.
* Images can be added to this post.
* Chord changes can be added by copying/pasting from the the following example: F∅ | B♭7(♭5, ♯13) | DΔ.

That's all right - but have you tried the application itself? What do you think?

More news - someone has already responded to my request for a WordPress plugin, and so when that's looking sealed, I'll be asking for help on Drupal!
