I got an offer for a set of SF-830 medium hard mallets from 'Silverfox'. I never heard of this manufacturer before... Is anyone here using Silverfox mallets and can shed a light on their quality and sound?
These Silverfox mallets sound great and match perfectly with my Adams Solist 3.1. Never had such a full tone esp. on the low end (to date, i used the medium Adams mallets that were supplied with the instrument as i got it used). Since the 3.1 has smaller bars on the low end (50mm instead of 58mm) to save space for the additional E note, low end playing was allways a bit problematic, facing a metallic sound if you don't hit the off-center sweet-spot of the bar.
With these SF-830's, those days are gone ! Even the low E sounds powerfull and natural.
So, if you could get a set of those, you should definetly give them a try !
