I like the idea of "tuning in" before meeting at the workshop.
Although I've been playing for longer, since the NL-workshop in feb 2010 I've gained a little insight from which angles we might approach all that jazz and what role the vibraphone can play. There is an article somewhere on the site, Tony is talking about the instrument works in the upper structures, not the bass... even though (disguised) bass-lines don't seem to be uncommon, I loved that article, sum's up the instrument.
I try to find some tunes (especially) these days for playing together at the workshop and since I'm not really fluent at soloing yet, I thought it would at least help to try comping. Frankly, for now I'm more focused on comping. While enjoying the recent "co(m)p this..." heatwave, I remember Tony playing All Blues, probably in Holland, or on one of the instruction videos... so I tried to set that up.
