Hello everybody !
I just wanted to tell you about my new vibraphone and share my impressions with you guys, all vibes players of the world ! It's been a hard time for me to make a choice. In the past I used to have, in the order : one M55, then one M48, then I played mostly the Yamaha model YV-3710 along with my old Aurora Deagan that I sold a few month ago.
So I was very aware to make a good choice. I almost chose one of the Nico's vibraphone and I was waiting for the VanderPlas carbonVibe. Finaly I decided to try a new challenge and I purchased the new Malletech vibraphone also knowen as the glamour name of "Love Vibe" !
I play it for one month now and I am just starting to use correctly the pedal system with the vibrato. I still need more time to feel confortable but I can tell you already that this is a great system.
Beside this, the frame is awesome and very well made. The bars are good and the resonnators have to be in tune to make them sounding good. It is possible since each resonnator has a mobile hat (translation ??).
Well for now I am very happy, I hope it's going to last !
I'd like to put a pic but I dont' know how ?... Good bye and maybe talk to you soon.
Philippe

Wow, that's exciting news Philippe! Can I ask how you purchased your instrument - did you buy it from a European dealer or did it come directly from USA? It's always a problem for us Europeans importing instruments from outside the EU!

Enjoy your new instrument, I hope you make beautiful sweet music with it!

Yes you're right, it is appreciable to find a safe way to import instruments from US. I bought it from a reseller in Switzerland who is called Emil Bolli and his store Murbach Musik which is not far from Zurich. It's a nice guy and above this he is professional percussionist besides the fact that he keeps a store. This is also valuable.
Best, Philippe

Congrats on your new "baby" Philippe! Whatever the choice, as long as you're happy with it, what else can one ask?! :o)

To post a picture you have two choices:

- Stay on this post, click on Edit, then on File Attachment, and upload your picture (it has to be not heavier than 60 MB). In this case the picture will appear as enclosure: people will have to open it to see it. BUT you can post a few pictures with the same process.

- Or you create a new post by clicking on Post then Image, you fill in the required fields, then you upload your picture clicking on "Choisissez un fichier" (yes, in French in the text!) ;-). There I don't remember your max pic size, but the photo will appear as open on your post and you still can add more files, which will appear as enclosure.

Tell me if you need more help!... And... what about an audio or a video post?!! That would be really cool!! Pleeease!! :o)

Philippe, I'm so happy to hear about someone else exploring the Love Vibe. Its not for everyone, but its new possibilities is an unending source of inspiration to me. The progressive wave dampening system of the dampening bar is just as hip as the controllable vibrato. That alone has giving me new exciting ways of phrasing.
Emil is a good friend! I'm happy he was able to help you out.
All the best to you!

Hello Ed, I want to thank you because I made my choice mainly thanks to your video. You made me appreciate the possibilities of the love vibe by your exemple, the way you show musicaly the abilities of the instrument is great. Beside this, Emil who is a nice guy helped me too.
