Check out this link. This is a cool instrument. I played one in Germany. Ed Mann is Frank Zappa's mallet player from back in the 70's and 80's! He's selling the vibes.

Amazing, that's nearly the vibes Norbert Lucarain is playing!

Same range of notes from G to E, same outlook... I love the dampening bar!

Though the extreme parts of the frames are thinner on Norbert's model...

And... I don't know why, but the two sets of resonators on his model are both placed in the same way: from high to low. When on this model they look as if assembled opposite ways...? Or maybe the sharps tubes are in arch layout for nice looking from the audience and they are hidden on the pic?

From what I know these are rare instruments... and this one surely looks in very good conditions! (Norbert's is in ruin for too many gigs and travels!) :o)

P.S.: Tony, can you still change your tittle: the name is not Sonar... but Sonor... :o)

Greetings folks,

I have been on the road for months, also moved back to L.A. and then back out on the road again all = I have not been in a situation where I can pay attention to the sale of these vibes. Returning home in mid Nov, and will be unpacking the Sonor 3.25 vibes. I am motivated to sell these- I have way too many vibraphones - so before I can get to my website (a few weeks) and promote this instrument in LA, I offer to any vibesworkshop member fora $500 reduction on the current price- that is: $3000.00 USD

tonefully yours

Ed

I had not read your comments Ed Mann, so you were at the origine of this extension of the E and G on those vibes!... and this to have more flexibility when playing with "guitarists" (and which guitarist! :o)

Wow! that's something! I sent an email to my friend Norbert... I wonder if he knew...

Holly cow!...
