Green Dolphin Street Solo For You to Transcribe by tony miceli
Here's a solo to transcribe. I made it fairly simple, but not too. Memorize it. Record yourself playing on top of my solo. This is how you transcribe! This is how you steal other peoples stuff! All great musicians do it!
This is a solo that will stand by itself. That is if you play it without the accompaniment it will sound like the tune. SO play it in all 12 keys. Watch how much this helps you. If you haven't done this before it will be difficult. No Pain No Gain!
Me Comping Over Green Dolphin Street by Tony Miceli
Here I am comping over Green Dolphin Street. Nothing else just me comping. For me it's important to have to have a melody in the top voice and then fit everything in from the top down. Maybe it seems like the way to do that is from the bottom up? I disagree. This is not a piano, we can't make our voicings clear with a solid bass line. We need the upper partials to make it all happen. Does that make sense? If not discuss this with me.
Editorial Note: You could also use this to Play Along with!(TJ)
