All the Things You Are by MetroWest Jazz Project

Hi All,

This is from a gig I did two Fridays ago, 5-March-2010. Me on vibes, Doug Sondak on alto, Richard Hale-Shaw on bass and Ed Conley on drums. It's a slightly twisted version of "All the Things You Are". I've attached the lead sheet for the arrangement, although the time changes should be easy enough to pick up.

It's a single mic recording so the mix isn't so great, I guess the mic was too close to the alto player, but you'll get the idea :-).

Some words of wisdom from Tyrone Brown

I think it is very hip what Ty says here about playing, especially the part at the end about life experience.

That's his new quartet playing in the background. Germaine's tap dance is integrated into the music as a drum. She also sings, but when she is tapping, it's two drummers, bass and vibes. ..and the other drummer is Doc Gibbs, who is totally awesome!

Nicolas Farrugia soloing over "I wish" from Stevie Wonder

Hello Vibes Workshop !

I was doing a gig yesterday with some students from a "conservatoire" in Paris, we were playing at the auditorium of the conservatoire...
We played some pop songs. I played marimba. (BTW I have to get the vibes player on the site)

Here is an excerpt "I wish", from Stevie Wonder.

Enjoy !

Henry Hey - Rudder @ Amsterdam - Wow smooooking!!

Guys,

I just came across this smoookin' vid and felt like sharing it: Henry Hey is a great musician that I knew more as an amazing "soft pianist". He was notably in Joe Locke's two first albums with voice.

But man... this is another something else! And the four of them are... wow!! How would say Tony "playing their asses off"! Oh man! What would the Inquisitor think about it! ;o)

Anyway, I love to hear them all (that electro/sax is amazing!), and watch them having so much fun!

A lesson in itself, no?

Enjoy!

Emil Richard Rattle Mallets By Mike Balter (My first commercial)

Here's my first commercial for our store! I just want to go through our products and talk about them.

The site needs to generate more of income if it's too survive. So I need to get the world out there about our products, which I'm trying to do. I'm not much of a screen and stage personality, but I'll just do my best!

And these ARE really cool mallets.
