Odd Time Signatures - Playing Melodies by Behn Gillece
Here's the first lesson on a series that I'll be doing over the next couple of weeks on odd time signature playing. This lesson discusses the phrasing of a melody over a slow 5/4. I apologize for my meowing cat towards the end of the video, haha!

Chords & Harmony - Using Tensions by Ted Wolff
For this month's "chords and harmony" topic I've written up an article focusing on tensions and several ways to use them effectively when comping. Some of the areas discussed include:
- using tensions to indicate major or minor tonal center
- available tensions for maj7, min7, min7(b5), dom7, and dim7 chords
- adding tensions to a blues progression
Hope you find it helpful.

Connect Chords Using Common tones
Hi guys here's my new lesson that will help you understand better how to connect chords using commen tones: basic knowledge of root position and inversion of chords is required.
I wrote this exercize thinking about Bach corales and his way of expressing the melody through melodies: it is important to pay attention to the movement of each note of the chord, considering the harmony not only horizontally but also vertically, as if each of our mallets were a distinct melody line of a four voice choir or a string quartet.
