I have a Deagan Auroa 1100 vibraphone for sale. I believe it was made in 1979.
It is located in Paris, France (si vous avez des questions, je peut parler en francais aussi)

First of all here is the good part:
It sounds and looks awesome, the sound is as you imaging from 100's of recordings. It is not a huge sound like a Musser, but is very balanced, great intonation, and is very easy to control.
Gilberto, in Chicago retuned and re-anodised it 7 years ago. The tuning is still great but there are a few keys which have blemishes, nothing serious. A candle dripped wax on some keys but when the wax was removed it took off bits of the gold coloring. It has had no effect on the sound. Gilberto also rebuilt/rewired the motor and put on a heavy duty cord.
The motor is 110V but I will include a heavy duty 110-220 converter (300 watts), which costs around 90 euro's. I have used this converter for years with no problems.
Here are the other problems
1 the spring is missing at the end of the foot pedal ( which attaches to the underside of the dampener) so I attached a little hook to attach to the dampener. The piece (from Gilberto probably costs a dollar)
2 The sharps resonator is missing the end fly-wheel attachment. probably 5 bucks to replace that. The 2nd image shows what the resonator end is supposed to look like.
3. the sharps resonator has some bashed in tubes where errant mallets have missed the keys (wasn't me:) This is not visual to anyone unless they are standing directly over the instrument and looking down into it.
4. The smaller end piece has some scratches in the metal. It probably could be effectively covered, and made mostly un-noticeable with paint, although the end piece was anodized gold.
5. There are scuffs and such on the inner rails and little bits here and there.
6. No cases (although I have modified a ski bag and one case fro the M48 soft cases, and little carrying case for the keys. I always wrap the tubes in blankets and lay the end pieces on their sides for moving. If interested i could make a good price for the cases I do have.
Overall the visual effect is "WOW" It looks great, and sounds great.
I have had this instrument for 12 years, and am the 2nd owner. I am selling because I am moving back to North America and already have 3 vibraphones on that continent, including a Commander. The Aurora sounds a little better the Commander, I think, or it may be just because it is prettier:).
So I am asking 4200 euro's but no reasonable offer will be refused. I would like to sell them before the end of July, so spread the word!
If you go to my website and go to the listen page, almost all the vibes recordings were done with this instrument. All my recording for Six Degrees Records and Sony records as well as all "Jazz Mafia" recordings were done with this Instrument.
