Write in the chords of the tune on the pdf. This is important because hopefully you'll do some analyzing.
Learn and memorize the etude.

Play it with the bass accompaniment part. Can you hear the changes? Ok, now play it with a metronome on 2 and 4.

Study the rhythms carefully and the phrasing. Can you hear the chord qualities, can you see what's different from chord to chord?

Recording made with a basic ZOOM Q3 during a rehersal of our new duo. I'm discovering the sound of vibes with accordeon, and I dig it. It's the first time I have the opportunity of playing a Piazzolla tune. Lot of polishing needed, of course, but what a fun for me!

Here's a new video from a recent CD release gig in NYC. This piece started as a bit of a vibes etude that I expanded for a trio. This track is entitled "Never Sleeps" from my last album "Gotham."

The song is dedicated to my mentor David Friedman. Once we were hanging out in my house in Italy and I showed him the harmonic and rhythmic Idea that opens the song. Then we decide to play a "kind of blues" on top of this strange chords progression... after a couple of week I composed this tune!!
