Hi all,
This is stella by starlight on solo vibes. The first is a pre-composed solo and the second is a jamming with the latin feel.
The reason I pre-composed the solo is because that way it's easy to practice specific things. It's the same when you practice a pre-composed solo.
thanks and enjoy
Its been a while since I posted anything as I was so busy with our jazz festival but I am back on the wagon again so here is my first piece. Its a tune we are working on at our improv classes and its a tough melody. Getting the sticking right is the trick there are still a few dodgy notes here and there but I decided to let you hear it anyway. Apologies for a little distortion but the record levels were up without me realising. Midi backing track
Practicing improvisation on Cole Porter's "You'd Be So Nice To Come Home To". Mixing up improvisational techniques including Four Note Groupings, Pentatonic Scales and Upper Structure Triads/7th chords.
Check out the guy turning the fans for him!!!!!!
Thanks Barryk for sending this to me!!!!
“LEARNING TO LISTEN: THE JAZZ JOURNEY OF GARY BURTON”

I realize I’m a bit late to the party, as the book was released in 2013, but having just voraciously devoured Learning to Listen: The Jazz Journey of Gary Burton, I feel compelled to offer a review…
I just like this picture of the Omega. I did a video shoot with a great Brazilian Pandiero player in a really cool setting.
Here's a nice performance of a pop song from Genesis!!
Hoper u enjoy
Here's a nice arrangment of a pop song that my old professor did for vibes solo.
Have fun!!!
