Concerto for Violin and Orchestra was written in 1987, marking Philip Glass's first work for orchestra. With the exception of a concerto for two timpanists, Glass has not written for solo percussion. Glass, being one of my favourite composers, I have selected this concerto to adapt for marimba and vibraphone.
Here is a Rhythm Changes Etude. It has harmonic generalization and harmonic specificity, like Behn talked about in his last few lessons. It also has some blues lines. The phrasing is great in this etude. I'll attach my performance of it as well as the pdf. Whatchya got!?
I've been using my hard mallets recently and am digging the sound. I love the Milt sound and the Bobby sound with the hard(er) mallets.
Check out the bass solo. It's called a walking solo. I dig walking solo's.
Hi guys, here's another clip from this past Sunday's session with Mark Carlsen on bass. We're doing Jobim's classic Wave.
thought i would post the first recording i did with reason 4 and use the malletkat as the controller ... this just completely alot of fun ... Thank you mario very much
Enjoy !
