Man I missed a brunch gig today. I knew I put the gig into Google calendar, I remember checking the time with the cat and checking my next gig after it today. I remember putting the date in the calendar.

I wasn't there and I missed the damn gig! Now I'm freaked out. Do I go back to paper? Could I have done something weird and deleted it?? What a mess. I'm going to pay the bass player what he was going to make today.

HELLO EVERYBODY. I HAVE BEEN WORKING THE AUTUMN LEAVES FOR ABOUT ONE AND A HALF MONTH. AT I THOUGHT I KNOW THIS TUNE, SO WHAT IS THE POINT OF PRACTICE AGAIN. I WAS WRONG. I LEARNED A LOT FROM THIS TUNE. ONE OF THE THINGS I LEARNED WAS WAS VARIOUS WAYS OF COMPING THE DOMINANT AND IN SOME CASES THE PRE-DOMINANT CHORDS. I FIGURED 19 WAYS, INCLUDING THE DROP 2 TECHNIQUE, IN SOME EXAMPLES. I HOPE YOU FIND THIS INTERESTING. IT TOOK A LOT OF TIME TO ORGANIZE THIS. SO , IF I HAVE MISTAKES OR MISUNDERSTANDINGS, DON'T JUDGE HARD AND FEEL FREE TO EMAIL ME.

Sorry, this comes a bit late, when everybody is already thinking about the next TOTM. I wish I had played more chords here, as I've spent a weeks playing chords and chord subs on Autumn Leaves. But I when started playing, I found myself playing lines. (Well, there are some chords as well). I made a point of using the substitutions that Behn discusses in his lesson. I think they are all there.

this is the last song i mixed for my trio. the song is written by the singer and is (at least for me) not easy to play. the vibes solo isn´t too good but it was the best i could do on recording day...

September is here and we are eager to tie in with colleges. I think with technology we could do some really great things!

We work with the University of Delaware doing some things with their percussion department. We are in their syllabus. Students subscribe to the site and work with the material. And we'd like to build on that!

As part of the University of Delaware subscription I come out and do a clinic (included) and we also do a vibe hang from the school.

holidays are over and i got so inspired by david and tonys video of "if i were a bell". i never played it before and practiced it the whole day. instead of doing a solo vibes version i wanted to make a trio version. unfortunatley all my musicicans friends are on holidays so i did all by myself.i found out bass lines are not that easy and i did not play keyboard since ages. i tried to work out a lot 4 mallet playing.

Here is a sample track from a new recording I've just completed. The units will be available by around mid September. I turned 60 in July and this new CD kind of marks the occasion (and hopefully reminds me that 60 is not old!)
