Fortunes' Fool: Edgar Bronfman Jr., Warner Music, and an Industry in Crisis

Fortune's Fool is the story of the record industry from about 1990 to the present, mostly by following the career of Edgar Bronfman, who got bored being a scion of the Seagram Liquor fortune and decided to take the company into the entertainment business. He eventually becomes (and still is, I believe) head of Warner Music.

BIAB - TOTM

Anyone out there have BIAB with the real instruments?

Can you send me an mp3 of My Romance maybe about 6 choruses?

I just need it to sound good. Are the drums swinging? Maybe no piano, just drums and Bass?

If you can, leave a comment here so that everyone doesn't do it.

Thanks!

TOTM - My Romance - Lesson 2 - Chords - Pt 3 - Suppl. by Tony Miceli

I broke down My Romance into sections. Try this approach, take little chunks of the tune and work with them. I have six sections below that cover each little part of the tune. See can understand the harmony of each one of these sections, and be able to move the harmony around in different keys. The idea is that you study one little section and that section makes sense to you, and then he studied the next, and then when you put it all together you you understand the whole tune.

Basic Voicings

This is likely to be old news for most on the site but hopefully helpful for those who haven't worked through these yet. I don't think I mentioned very clearly that you can replace the fifth of each voicing with the 6th for more color or variation.

Converting Freedom Jazz Dance to a Blues

This vid cuts in in the beginning. But listen to it and check out the end. This is where we first worked on Freedom Jazz Dance as a blues.

We were winging it. You can hear the first couple choruses where we're getting the form of the blues straightened out! Funny huh? That's cool to me, figuring something out between us without words.
