Another cut from the Mountain View Concert
Hello fellow vibists,
Here’s a version of Green Dolphin Street with Dave Liebman, Matt Wilson and David Clark and me. The head in and out is pretty loose, but in the whole scheme of things and vibe of the performance, it seems to work OK.
OK, this post was prompted by Ed's great version of Black Orpheus, and his thoughts about mallets...
This video was done a while ago, and I don't think I ever posted it on VW. Reason was, that I wasn't that crazy about the playing. It started out as just a personal comparison, to see how much I could feel the difference between mallets if I ran some video. A friend wanted to see it, so I edited a little movie and put it up on YouTube. But I was kind of farting around - wish the time and feel were a little better. Whatever, the subject is actually mallets.
Guys, here’s another one. We’re playing my composition Hope. The intro featured a drone which was Lieb’s idea. I like the mood that it set up for the tune. The lead sheet can be downloaded from my website here: http://www.edsaindon.com/originalcompositions.htm
Part Two can be checked out on my YouTube page here: http://www.youtube.com/edsaindon
This is so deep. The LINES!
Here's another clip from the same concert that my previous post "Pure Spirit" was taken from.
The lineup is Dave Liebman - tenor, Matt Wilson - drums, David Clark - bass and me on vibes. We're performing an original of mine called The Healing. The concert took place on February 2nd, 09 at the University of New Hampshire in Durham, NH.
The Healing lead sheet can be downloaded from my website here: http://www.edsaindon.com/originalcompositions.htm
Hello everyone,
Here's a videoclip from a concert this past year.
The concert took place on February 2nd, 09 at the University of New Hampshire in Durham, NH and featured Dave Liebman on tenor and soprano, Matt Wilson on drums, David Clark on bass and me on vibes, marimba and piano. This was the first song of the 2nd set. We opened the set (minus Lieb) with an original of mine titled "Pure Spirit".
www.vibesworkshop.com welcomes Joe Locke. Joe says hello and gives some thoughts on his playing.
