Pretty smoking vibe solo! He gets house!
Check out the choruses up front with just drums and joe! OMFG And the rest of the solo is smoking. what a unique cat!
I started a solo arrangement to Bobby Hutcherson's "Little B's Poem".
Enclosed is a PDF, and an audio generated from Sibelius. I also attached an initial attempt at it (just a few measures).
The original recording has vibes and flute playing unison.
Inspired by that, I decided to play octaves in the right hand (the PDF only has single line melody, but the intention is to play octave), with the left hand comping with a sort of jazz waltz stride.
Any takers to try it out?
Comments and suggestions appreciated.

I don't remember how I got it, but man I love this tune! Stefon Harris' contribution there is deep and beautiful!

So let's start office hours. If anyone wants to hang via skype we can try it on Monday, May 16, 2011. (GMT - 4:00) (Is that
Office hours are for subscribers.
So I have 2 slots, 12pm and 1pm. We can spend up to 30 to 40 minutes working on something you have questions with. Make sure you have Skype figured out and your audio and video working.
Office hours are not lessons, you must come prepared with questions pertaining to stuff you're working on. Usually just one or two things we can talk about.
I moved this from a forum posting to a blog...
I am wondering if my glasses are messing with my site reading improvement quest. Looking at the music, and then looking down without moving my head, I notice the frame of my glasses cuts right in the middle of the naturals. I assume there there are other folks who can play with bi-focals or have dealt with this issue. My questions are:
1) Should I get larger frames
2) Shell out the $$ for some vibe only lenses
3) Deal with what I have, perhaps my brain can adjust.
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
Here's a challenge for you guys.
Take any lick record it in twelve keys without stopping and post it here. Doesn't matter if it's Marie Had A Little Lamb. Post any lick here in 12 keys. Should take you 15 minutes.
