Hi All,
June is shaping up with two new (to me) vibes players, Phil Kraus and Mitch Shiner. I'll open with Christian Tamburr who I met recently at the memorial ceremony for Bob Masteller. Christian flew in from Las Vegas to be there. I really enjoyed seeing, hearing and meeting him. The occasion was a fantastic celebration for the life of Masteller, owner of the Jazz Corner in Hilton Head. Non-stop musicians and music all afternoon from some of the very best.

Hi everyone,

My debut album as leader, "Mindset", is coming out May 15th. I'm really excited about the recording. The album consists of my originals that I've been playing on gigs for awhile now. Hard to believe, it's five years since Good Vibes, the first and only broadcast program to feature the vibraphone, first went on the air.

I just wanted to post a congrats to Christos (Rafalides) for releasing his new suite for solo vibraphone, Reaching For Sindhu. I've had a chance to listen to the piece and check out the sheet music... and it's a really great piece of music! Everyone,
A New Orleans style jazz send-off for Bob Masteller is planned for April 10 at the Honey Horn Plantation, Hilton Head Island, following church services that morning. Musicians are coming from around the country to perform and pay their final respects to a truly inspirational human being. A memorial fund has been set up at website www.thejazzcorner.com. Proceeds will benefit Bob's beloved Junior Jazz Foundation, a non-profit organization which fosters jazz education among young people.

Hi All,
Looks like I haven't posted about the last two months' shows but I am back. March welcomes Ted Piltzecker and Larry Lawless to Good Vibes. In honor of the Third World Vibes Congress, I've included Tony and Anthony from their CD California, Here I Come, Ted from Unicycle Man, and Larry Lawless from Jazz Behind Bars. This last is from a CD I discovered on the table from Steve Weiss Music. I'll play a tune by Steve Pouchie, "Tunisia By Day," one from Behn's new CD Light at the Point, and more. Tune in!
