Amazing mechanical vibes, marimba and percussion - very entertaining!
You have to see this to believe it. Like some strange mutant instrument from Dr. Seuss and Star Wars. This instrument knocked me out!

Here is a live performance of an arrangement of My Funny Valentine. This was the first tune we played at this gig and we were having all sorts of issues with sound and monitoring levels ...... basically we couldn't hear each other so its pretty loose at first, but thought I'd share it anywyay to give you an idea of the sound of the group and concept of my latin jazz project Latin Vibe. Plus my piano player kept comping all the time even though we worked out to take it in turns !!!
Hi all!
At a period when the kitchen will soon be a very important and full room, I found this fun video on Youtube: students of Danish vibist Martin Fabricius playing "Wok Amok", said Martin: "A piece of mine written in 2000 for 2 chefs and 2 helpers".
Martin is not "yet" a member here, but is registered on thevibe.net and studied with Ed Saindon. You can find his details and vids with him on this youtube link, are more on his website: http://www.martinfabricius.eu/index.html
Enjoy!

Music does not exist in a vacuum. As musicians we all need other people to appreciate our playing skills and our compositions. A musician's highest goal is to make music that will reach a large audience and maybe, just maybe, make a difference to those who hear us.
Today I was running an errand at lunch that took me off of my normal beaten path and past Alan Dawson's old neighborhood in Lexington, MA. That started some reminiscing that I thought would be good to share.
After Joe's story about Mimis Plessas I went to check youtube, and here is a concert I did with a singer in Athens in 2007. Check out Mr. Plessas in the beginning!
We also did a tune with Christos there, I'll see if I can find it.

Here's some arranging madness with the tune Cherokee.
I posted this a long time ago. So see the 'check this out' link. Let me know what you think. And also if there's a need to talk about arranging....?

I just happened across this and I thought it was too cool! Needless to say, I want one :)
He's got a few other videos up too if you like it.
Hey guys,
Here are some audio clips from a concert that took place at The University of New Hampshire in Durham, NH on February 2nd, 2009. The players are Dave Liebman – soprano & tenor, Matt Wilson – drums, David Clark – bass and me on vibes, piano and marimba.
