Just gott his wild Idea.. Imagine a worldwide collective of vibraphonists sharing their frames, and only bringing their own resonators and bars on trips! -Saving money on owerweight, not needing to compromize on the sound, stay in touch and gather inspiration from colleagues all over the world (Thanks again, Tony!!!), saving our backs on carrying….
Just like the car-sharing-concept… Just spare us the time and energy on finding light weight sollution and only focus on sound...
The drawback would be the extra traveling and organizing in every city, to bring and deliver the frames you borrow. According to this, one also have to take into consideration the extra work every time someone want to pick up your frame and deliver it again.
Not shure if this is a great idea after all, but wanted to present it for you, and see what comes out of it.
All the best,
Karl Ivar

What about the whole instrument

maybe we should start a rental/loan list and see where all the instruments are. if you're going to lend the frame, then why not the whole instrument?
i could set something up here, i think.

Thanks for the engagement, Tony! Yeah, why not the whole Vibraphone- I just thought some might be more anxious about lending the bars/resonators.
Well, let´s first see how people like the thought to lend out their babies... I´m not even sure my self.
Best,
i wouldn't really lend mine out

i'd want to deliver it and pick it up.
i'd be worried about what mallets the guy uses (i learned this from nico, hard ones can crack bars)
i'd have to really know the person who wanted the instrument.
and since i'd have to deliver it and pick it up, i'd have to be paid for my time.
now, if someone was a long time subscriber, if i could do it, i'd do it for free.
this is a tough one. i think maybe it should be with a rental price, huh?
