Boy, am I lucky to live here in New Jersey. I get to see such great vibes players as Behn and Tony live and in person. Behn and Ken (Fowser) performed recently at Makeda, an Ethiopian restaurant in New Brunswick, to introduce their new CD Top Shelf. Four winners in a row for this duo and their sidemen. I wrote a piece on this gig for the New Jersey Jazz Society's monthly magazine, July issue. It is only distributed hard copy to members, but if anyone wants the column, I will be glad to send it to on or even post it here, if that's okay with Tony. I'll be playing tracks from Top Shelf on Good Vibes starting in July.
In August I also will be playing Tony's new CD with The (Paul) Jost Project titled "Can't Find My Way Home." (love the cover pic) We saw them last night at World Cafe Live in Philly. Whew! It's not easy to remake classic rock tunes, especially when the originals are so fresh in listeners' minds, but they've done it very creatively, very jazzily, I could say. For the next generation maybe this is the way in. My generation became attached to songs like "Smoke Gets in Your Eyes," and "In the Still of the Night." Who knew or cared they were written in the '30s?
Tony and Behn, you are both top shelf. Thanks for all the great music, there is nothing like being there live.And if you are both going to play together in any way, shape or form, at the vibe hang tomorrow, with Randy too (!) I will be tuned in.

I'm not sure I understood what you said about the piece you wrote, but if there is anything to listen to about you, I'd be more willing to!! So do as you like, post and send...
