In day 4, we're reverting back to the original rhythm. The difference here is closed voicings. Notice the nice crunch in the closed voicings. As with the other lessons, keep the articulation nice and short on the eighth note.

Day 2: The same rhythm is being used here, but the top note is being moved around. While moving the top around changes the harmony, it also gives the illusion of something different happening rhythmically.

I see Yuhan hanging around on the site. She's a great vibe player from Taiwan. Here's a cool piece (I think) she wrote.

This week's objective is voicings for minor ii-Vs. In Day 1, we're dealing with closed voicings. Most of these contain the basic chord tones. Practice them and memorize them before moving to the next lesson.

Thanks to Glen Dalrymple! He rebuilt my M48 which was in very bad shape! It's really beautiful now and plays great. I wore it out before!

Day 4: All the chords are in open position. Although they're in open position, you will see that some of the chords still have a lot of crunchiness. Try memorizing these voicings and maybe try them in a few different keys.

Day 3: You will notice some open position chords in this progression. They are on the ii-V part. The tonic chords are still closed. Make note of the crunchiness in the closed chords.

Day 2: We've changed the top note of each chord to a G. No matter where the harmony goes, this is the note all the chords hover around. These are closed position chords.
