Here's a great video about a vibe player I knew nothing about. However he plays great and is a great guy.
But I'll let John Keene tell the story, it's a bit tragic. John turned me onto the video.
I had an amazing and busy summer.
I can inform all of you including Gary Burton and Dave Friedman who talked about the demise of the vibraphone that it is still out there and strong. Sure not like a guitar, but it's there and WE are all having an effect on that.
You guys along with me are playing and talking about the instrument and we're making a difference. I think the instrument has grown a lot in the last 7 years. I am so psyched by what I've seen this summer.
It's been an incredible but exhausting summer. I have about 3 weeks left and I'll be back in full force on the site!
I get to travel a lot this summer, however some of the plane delays and cancellations have been terrible and did not make things fun!
I can't wait to get back to practicing and doing lessons!
Very Soon!

Well, we are very close to migrate to a new site. We have spent hundreds of hours on this. There's only two of us behind this and this has been brutal.
The new site will let you watch video on your iphone and it will also resize for the iphone, so it will be easier to read on all devices.
Now you can put the phone on the stand and watch the lesson!
Please be patient with us, the migration will be hard. Although my partner expects it to be easy and there be no problems, I'm to jaded to buy into that!
In the end the new site will be great!!!!
Hey VW,
Wanted to share a video with some fantastic new mallet prototypes made for me by Mike Balter... these have been inspiring me to play!
Mike & I have been talking about this over the years, but recently he came up with something that really hit it out of the park. Nobody is really making anything like it, as far as I know.
Sorry the audio on here could be better, but you can still hear how good they sound. They are designed to work well with the pickups.
Cheers,
Steve
