Beautiful (2009) by Tarik Dosdogru

about 2 month´s ago i saw a live concert of christina aguilera on tv. she really blew me away cause not like other pop diva´s she had a real band with complete horn section ON the stage and not hided anywhere in the back.the band was really killer like and they played soul and even some jazz elements in there, mostley from her back to basics cd.i got the cd later but it´s not as good as her live show...ok i am no teenie anymore but this woman really can sing incredible.

Harry Sheppard - Paris 1961/2 !!

Guys!

I just got an email from Harry... he sent me this link, saying I might like it cos' this film was recorded in Paris 1961...

Harry, I'm sorry but this is not something that can be just kept in an emailbox... well not in mine!!! :o)

His solo is quite short, but God that whole tune is incredible!!

Enjoy!!

P.S.: I had not noticed before, but his catch phrase signing his emails is "Live, Laugh, Love, and make Music"... :o)

Let's talk about practicing

Hi everyone,

I am interested in getting a wide-ranging discussion about practicing going here on the VW. There is more than one way to approach practicing, and it is a very personal thing for each musician. Some musicians are very methodical about it while others are highly flexible. And things like schedules, traveling, and access to practice space can all contribute to shaping one’s practice habits.

The Concert Will Be Here

We decided to open this concert for everyone who might be interested in checking it out.
Originally we were inviting a lot of presenters, but since this is the first one we decided to trim that back for this time.

Great Vibe Hang Today

We hopped around the country today.

At my house was 5 vibe players. Me, Randy Sutin, Michael Caine, Sy Platt and Barry K.
Also Mark P on bass and Charlie Paterno on drums.

Was went up to Boston and listened to Mario Diciuttis play some amazing things on the Mallet Kat, out to Oregon and listened to Tmacoid then to Brooklyn to listen to James Shipp and Jo Lawry. I think everybody had a lot of fun!

Weirdness w/ Milt & Ahmad by Gary Burton

I've already written about some of those times when things just don't go like you expect. And, believe me, everyone in this business has the occasional weird situation they have to get through. Without a doubt, my strangest gig was the one time I played with Ahmad Jamal and his trio. I have been a long-time fan of Ahmad's music, and I had met him informally a couple of times through the years. So, when the chance came to play a few tunes with him at a concert in France, I was delighted. The occasion was a music industry convention in Nice called MIDEM.
