Invitation & more by Joe Locke (solo piece - Drop 2 "listen"!)

Hi all,

It’s a long time since I wished I could share the attached file with you. It’s in my "special collection" and I love it.

Last April when Joe Locke came to Paris his gig with the Moutin Brothers was recorded on the radio. Of course, I was there… and Florian too!

This is Joe’s solo intro piece... in full... and beautiful!

It fits rightly with Dana’s recent drop 2 lessons and Joe agreed that I posted it... I’m thrilled!

Enjoy!

P.S. : Jean-Michel, listen to what you missed! :o)

Mallets and Progressive Rock - Lazuli -

A colleague of mine is active in a site for Progressive Rock fans. We finally found a link between both our passions: a PR band with mallet percussions!

Don’t expect the vibes to be a star there. It’s first of all Progressive Rock:

- Guitars rule: bass, acoustic and electric guitar, chapman stick, warr guitar, and an instrument unique in the world: The Leode. That very large handled guitar, created by the player himself, after he had lost the use of his left arm in a road accident.

Ed Saindon vibraphone clinic on Saturday, March 28th, 2009

Hello everyone,

I have a vibraphone clinic coming up that I wanted to mention. The clinic will take place on Saturday, March 28th in Ogden, Utah as part of a PAS Day of Percussion hosted by Don Keipp.

The clinic will focus on mallet technique and address the following topics: pedaling, dampening and the fulcrum grip. Time permitting, I’ll also talk about improvisation, comping and solo vibraphone playing.

Here is the contact information:

update on whats going on in my life....

Hey Guys,

I've been feeling bad that I'm not around much, especially since there is soo much stuff going up, my recent activity page has a few pages of all new stuff I wanna check out, so I'll try to do that now and then.

Man, Dana, you're really putting stuff up, I love that you're contributing so much. Great stuff. And I love the way this site is evolving. More and more students putting stuff up and putting themselves in the open.
