DIY Vibraphon Bars

This is a first quick & dirty recording with our first self made bar set. This was part of a thesis work of a mechanical engineering student (no musician).

The frame and bars are part of several thesis works to set up a demo project showing the whole computer aided engineering process and can be used licens free.

I am very glad about the sound we received.
This is a dry recoding without effects!

I will come out with more details about what we did step by step.

I hope, you like it too.

Quick Bluesette line

Stuck and home and starting writing lines over Bluesette. Heres the first A. If this interests folks I'll add more and maybe explain some of the thinking behind the lines. PDF attached. I played it mostly right.
Sorry for the clanky vibes sound, no resonators because everyone in my buiding is cooped up at home.

Notes of The Vibes - Great Exercise for Us All To Do While We Are Stuck Inside

These are individual tracks each of one note on the vibraphone.

Download this. Put it on your phone like a CD.

Play the "album", set it to shuffle. Play a note, stop it. Find it on your instrument. Eventually You'll be able to let it play and follow it. It's super great ear training.

Just do it, 5-10 minutes a day. After a while, 5 is plenty.

Don't go fishing for the write note. Use your ears if you play a wrong note. Sing you're note if it's wrong and then sing the other note.

Don't waste a lot of time thinking,'use the force'.

Berlin Blues -V

Since I have to stay home except for a bit of shopping and walks around the beautiful park in my neighborhood I decided to record something each day of Corona house arrest. I'm starting today. This is a blues with the left hand doing "four on the floor". Hope you like it.
