All the Notes of the Vibraphone

Simple ear training! Download this zip file, unzip it, add it itunes or burn it to a CD. Set it to random and then follow the notes. Pause them in the beginning. Figure each note out with as few tries as possible. DON'T GO FISHING! That's what I call it when someone just starts hitting random notes to figure out the pitch they just heard. Take your time.

If you play a wrong note, sing the wrong note and then sing the note on the cd. Check out the difference and then play the right note. Make sense?

jamming with christos rafalides band by dimitris angelakis

Hey guys! Happy new year! This is a video of me jamming with the christos rafalides band (playing my vibes ofcorse hahahahah). This trio is amazing and its christos on vibes, petros klampanis on bass and bodek janke on drums-percussion. Also a very good greek drummer kostas anastasiadis joined the jamm leaving bodek playing the percussion part :).

Check it out

thanks
Dimitris

New Gig!

Just got my first paid gig at a bar/jazz club in Yardley, PA. The place is called The Vault, primarily a "brew pub" but they hire live jazz 3 nights a week. Playing on January 3rd as a duo with Justin Sekelewski on bass. Only one thing I'm unsure about....When I sent the guy at the Vault an email with my demo I never mentioned that I'm only 16...could this cause an issue???

Days of the Workshop

Let's focus on the TOTM's we've covered so far.

Let's also work on ways of building technique, solo playing, studying chords and all other topics you guys might have.

We'll start the day at about 10am and go till noon.
Then have lunch. Get back together at about 1:30 or 2. We'll go until about 4. Break for dinner. Come back for percussion ensemble at about 5:30. After percussion ensemble we'll hang and have a concert, or jam together.
