in this lesson we will talk about McCoy Tyner and his amazing harmonic concept applied to modal tunes based on sparse chords.
We will discuss about quartal voicings, so what voicing and harmonization of modal scales using those harmonic stuctures.

Here is a couple of ways you can fill the space in between bars.
Those ideas could be use as harmonic or melodic device.

1. You can approach any chord with a dominant 7th chord built a half step up or down your target chord:
e.g. C can be approach with a Db7 or B7

I use this turnaround: C-Am-Dm-G7 and at the end I precede each chord with a dDom7 B7-C-Bb7-Am-Eb7-Dm-Ab7-G7.

2. Harmonize any given major or minor scale using a dim chord (G7b9) as a passing chord:
C6 - Ddim7 - C6/E - Fdim7 - C6/G - Abdim7 - C6/A -Bdim7.

首先，先找一個音，演奏Ballads的速度，

如果你從來沒有演奏過Ballads，這是一個很棒的練習。

可以先找一個和弦，專注在速度和節奏上（示範：Ed major）;
再找兩個和弦試試（示範：Ed major, Ad major ）

This is an AWESOME piece. Good fodder for advanced geography/space sharing between the hands on vibraphone. Also stabilizing repeated tones while surrounding tones change, and avoiding anticipatory "static" in the motion (ie. a hand tries to leave early and you miss a note).
